Kate Phillips is a second-year medical student at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX. She was raised in Austin, TX and then moved to Fort Worth to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience in the Texas Christian University Class of 2016. During her first year of medical school, she competed on a SIMS team that participated in simulation challenges at the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and the Texas College of Emergency Physicians (TCEP) conferences. Kate was a founding member of the Student Initiative in Medical Simulation at UNTHSC and has served as External Relations Chair to direct the program’s community outreach. She also serves as the West Coast Regional SIMS Leader to promote national outreach in medical simulation. Her professional interests include Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, with particular interests in emergency ultrasound and critical care medicine.
